Mae ymchwil Anastasia yn canolbwyntio ar astudio goddefgarwch rhew y sbriws Sitka (Picea sitchensis).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Disgwylir i newid yn yr hinsawdd ostwng lefelau difrod rhew y rhywogaeth goed masnachol bwysig sbriws Sitka ym Mhrydain, oherwydd bod sbriws Sitka yn rhywogaeth a gyflwynwyd yn wreiddiol o ogledd America. Mewn cyferbyniad, disgwylir i rywogaethau brodorol gael eu heffeithio&#8217;n ddifrifol gan newidiadau mewn ffenoleg a yrrir gan yr hinsawdd, megis amseriad byrstio blagur, pan nad yw\u2019n effeithio\u2019r rhywogaethau a gyflwynir.<\/p>\n<p>Dywed Anastasia,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRwy\u2019n credu mai\u2019r rhan allweddol yma yw nad yw amseru byrstio blagur yn cael unrhyw effaith o gwbl ar lefelau difrod rhew mewn sbriws Sitka. Mae&#8217;n ymddangos bod cymaint o ymdrechion bridio ac ymchwil ar oddefgarwch rhew yn canolbwyntio ar osgoi byrstio blagur yn gynnar. Mae dangos nad oes gan hyn unrhyw bwysigrwydd yn y DU yn ddefnyddiol i ganolbwyntio ymdrech fridio tuag at nodau mwy defnyddiol.<\/p>\n<p>Er bod yr ymchwil yn dangos bod disgwyl i newid yn yr hinsawdd leihau lefelau cyffredinol y difrod rhew mewn sbriws Sitka, mae cryn dipyn o ansicrwydd o hyd ynghylch ffactorau eraill. Er enghraifft, gall sychder cynyddol luosi unrhyw effeithiau rhew.
