Energy from cattle manure can be produced using anaerobic digesters. It uses the natural process of anaerobic degradation of organic material which releases methane. Energy is generated through the burning of the methane. The project was looking at the indirect economic value through processes such as pollution abatement, reducing green house gas emissions from live stock, and pathogen destruction.
