Sustainability Workshops

KESS 2 Sustainability Workshops are designed to help KESS 2 students understand how their research contributes to sustainability. We explore this in the context of the Wellbeing of Future Generations (WFG) Act, which is the overarching sustainable development framework in Wales.

We will also be rolling out a programme to promote and discuss sustainability and the wider benefits of research to society with company partners as well as students and their supervisors. Watch this video below to find out more:

Sustainability Induction and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) workshops

We are rolling out a revised programme of induction sessions for current KESS 2 students. More information will follow soon. We are also developing a monthly programme of sessions, taking the theme of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These sessions are an opportunity to find out how sustainability is relevant to your research, your industrial partner, and academic institution.

The induction gives the foundation of understanding how sustainability and the cross cutting themes are addressed in Wales within the WFG Act.

The monthly SDG workshops will take one United Nations sustainable development goal per month, and feature short case studies from KESS 2 and KESS 2 East projects. There will be an opportunity to explore how your research contributes to the well-being goals and national indicators and the Wales we all want. We will invite expert speakers, and feature KESS 2 scholars, giving case studies from their research to explore how the SDG of the month is being delivered through the active research programmes. We are currently unable to offer face to face KESS 2 Sustainability Workshops. This page will be updated when more information is available about upcoming sessions.
